Lone Rock is just thatΓÇôalone in the midst of the Wahweap Creek drainage. Once it was a massive butte, towering some 474 feet (144.5 feet). Now, Lake Powell makes it an island and at full pool inundates its lower 140 feet (42.7 meters), leaving 334 feet (101.8 meters) exposed. Lone Rock was a favorite camping spot for cattlemen during the 1880s and 1890s when grass in the broad Wahweap drainage was stirrup high.
